Dining

While in Santa Fe, try the stylish Ze French Bistro.
This is a dandy restaurant with first-rate food, reasonable prices and conscientious service that reflects caring, astute management. Stephane and Vanessa Soquirre have transformed a restaurant coffee shop into an inviting spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. With Chef Laurent Rea in the kitchen, the menu features a sampling of classic French cuisine with some updates.
Enjoy homemade soups like creamy, pale orange butternut squash or lobster bisque. Of course the classic French onion is served in the traditional little brown crock and topped with soft bread and melted Gruyere cheese
Try a cheese tart with soft slices of brie atop a layer of warm, deep brown caramelized onions in a light pastry cup, or indulge yourself in a salad with grilled pears, candied pecans and blue cheese, all tossed with fresh greens. Thick, soft pear slices, served warm with strips from the grill, make this lightly dressed salad remarkable.
Desserts are first-class. Try the rich rum raisin crème brulee, or the popular strawberry rhubarb crumble with daub of ice cream.
Whether you are sitting along the front windows of the Bistro or on the patio, you’ll look out over the Santa Fe River. It’s not the Seine, but you’ll enjoy a warm taste of Paris none the less!
